FAQ on QSA
1. What is QSA?
A: The QSA is a part of 10Gtek QSFP series products. The QSFP+ port is interconnected with the SFP+ port through the QSA. Its working principle is: QSFP+ originally has four 10 gigabit signal channels, QSA only connects to the first 10 gigabit signal channel and connected to SFP+. The other three signal channels are abandoned.
2. Is there any compatibility limit for the QSA?
A: No.
Till now, there are two versions of 10Gtek QSA:
a: QSA with EEPROM;
b: QSA without EEPROM, reading data directly on the SFP+ transceiver.
3.What are the application of QSA?
A: The QSA can be used in devices with 40G QSFP+ interfaces and interconnected with devices with 10G SFP+ interfaces.
10Gtek can also provide versions for the employment on 100G QSFP28.
4.How to interconnect SFP28 ports and QSFP28 ports?
A: 10Gtek QSA supports a single channel rate of 25Gb/s.
By using QSA on the QSFP28 port, you can connect to the SFP28 optical module.
5.What is the operating temperature range of the QSA?
A: The operating temperature range of commercial QSA is 0°C-70°C.
The operating temperature range of industrial QSA is -20°C-85°C.
6.What is the difference on function between the QSA and the QSFP+ to 4x SFP+ copper cable?
A: They both can achieve the interconnection between the QSFP+ port and the SFP+ port.
The QSA only uses the first signal channel of the QSFP+, and needs to be inserted into the optical module for connection.
The QSFP+ to 4x SFP+ copper cable uses all four channels. It comes with an SFP+ connector and no external optical module needed.
7.What is the power consumption of the QSA?
A: No power consumption.
8.What are the standards complied by QSA?
A: There are no industry standards. The QSA produced by 10Gtek is a customized product.
